No two drops are the same, which is also their charm. The colours and shapes are beautiful. The glass dyed in the mass gives a very nice effect of colour shades.
Each drop is blown away without mould by Syrian craftsmen according to a traditional method.
Dar Dar House (formerly Maison d'Alep) works with 2 glassblowers' workshops in Damascus. The work and production of these workshops is of course considerably impacted by the particularly difficult situation in Syria for several years.
The number of artisan blowers is smaller and the cost of fuel to run the kilns is higher.
But these Syrian craftsmen continue to work. They practice their craft according to an ancestral technique. In this way they ensure their own subsistence and the transmission of this traditional know-how.
