Objects loaded withhistory
After so many trips, with an immoderate taste for the singular, the authentic, a sharp and passionate eye, Pierre-Guillaume Boucot creates Tribes & Kingdoms in 2005.
The idea: the world of the unique object, outside the industrial chains, outside mass production.
Tribes & Kingdoms are materials that are sought after all over the world, steeped in historyMarked by time, worn, patinated, damaged. Wood, metal, textile. Re-thought, revisited, to create various objects and furniture.
Tribes & Kingdoms is also about rare, exceptional, sometimes extravagant, always singular, historical or vintage pieces, chosen and presented by love of the unique.
The Tribus & Royaumes label is present in private homes as well as in numerous hotels and boutiques with refined interiors, and in the future will develop complete furnishing concepts.
Unique and singular metal frames created with antique Victorian plates
The frames that Kabambi has selected for you are rare pieces, we had never seen similar ones elsewhere. For the anecdote, we discovered them by chance, adorning the partitions of another stand at the Maison & Objet show in September 2014. We then looked for the exhibitor, and discovered these singular frames.
They are made from antique Victorian plates made of metal. Also called "Brooklyn Tiles", these plates are all period, as PG Boucot explains, and were used as false ceilings in English-speaking countries. Tribus & Royaumes has transformed them into frames, leaving them with their original patina.
The Victorian motifs in relief, characteristic of the end of the 19th century, are very diversified, and make of this material steeped in history, objects of decoration with a resolutely contemporary design. Each frame is a unique piece.
